Tax Internship (Remote)
AVID BUSINESS ADVISORS offers general business advisory services, on-demand financial consulting, and tax planning and preparation services to individuals and small businesses. The lead advisors Ita Adebayo and Zak Shah are licensed CPAs based in Chicago, IL who graduated from the Illinois State College of Business.
We are looking for college students or recent graduates interested in gaining real world tax consulting and preparation experience to join our team this Spring. As an intern you will receive mentorship from our team of professionals with tax and consulting experience. Additional skills and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities

Maintain a working knowledge of individual tax laws

Maintain a working knowledge of tax preparation software used in the office

Assist with the preparation of a variety of tax returns which may include individual, partnership, and corporation returns to meet government requirements and client expectations

Assist with the preparation of individual tax projections to ensure proper tax planning for the client

Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with professionals of all levels

Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments

Practice appropriate business ethics and conduct
Qualifications

Students in their sophomore or junior year of college, pursuing a Bachelor Degree

Recent graduates studying for the CPA exam prior to starting full time employment

Preferred Fields of Study include: Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, and/or Management

Preferred major and cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0

Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills

Prior experience with Google Workspace including Doc, Sheets, Slides is preferred but not required

Prior tax preparation experience on a volunteer or paid basis is preferred but not required
